Terms of Service

Last updated: 1 July 2025

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Somafield platform at somafield.co (the "Platform"). By using the Platform you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. What Somafield is

Somafield is an online marketplace that connects independent somatic and embodiment practitioners ("Practitioners") with people seeking their services ("Clients"). Somafield provides the technology to discover practitioners, book sessions, and process payments.

Somafield is not a therapy, medical, or mental-health provider. Sessions booked through the Platform are provided by independent Practitioners, and Somafield is not a party to the practitioner–client relationship. Somafield does not endorse, supervise, or take responsibility for the content, methods, or outcomes of any session.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account.

3. Practitioner responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information about your training, credentials, and offerings.
  • Hold any qualifications, insurance, and legal permissions required to practise in your jurisdiction.
  • Conduct sessions with professionalism, respect, and appropriate ethical standards.
  • Honour bookings and communicate promptly about scheduling, changes, or cancellations.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, including tax obligations on income earned through the Platform.

4. Client responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information when making a booking.
  • Respect the Practitioner's cancellation and rescheduling policy, as stated on their profile or at the point of booking.
  • Attend booked sessions on time or cancel with reasonable notice.
  • Understand that sessions are not a substitute for medical, psychiatric, or emergency care. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services.

5. Payments and platform fee

Payments are processed by Stripe. When a Client pays for a booking, Somafield charges a platform fee of 10% of the booking amount and remits the remainder to the Practitioner in accordance with the payout schedule. Practitioners are responsible for their own applicable taxes.

Refunds and cancellations follow the Practitioner's stated policy. Payment-processing fees charged by Stripe are non-refundable.

6. Reviews and content

Reviews are collected only from verified bookings. You retain ownership of the content you post, and grant Somafield a non-exclusive licence to host and display it on the Platform. Content must be truthful, lawful, and free of harassment, hate speech, or infringing material.

7. Standards and removal of listings

Somafield may, at its discretion, review, suspend, or remove any listing, account, or content that violates these Terms, our published platform standard, applicable law, or that we reasonably believe to be harmful, misleading, or fraudulent.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Somafield is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or related to your use of the Platform or the services of any Practitioner. Somafield's total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms will not exceed the greater of the fees paid to Somafield by you in the 12 months preceding the claim, or EUR 100.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Somafield against any claim arising from your breach of these Terms, misuse of the Platform, or violation of any law or third-party right.

10. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the Platform if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the service. Provisions that by their nature survive termination will continue to apply.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union member state in which Somafield is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the Platform. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
